White or blank rectangular box keeps showing after boot

**October Update: a fix has been released for this issue. If you're experiencing this problem, please run an in-place upgrade by running the following file

You might experience a blank or white rectangular box at the top left or your PC (or bottom right). The box will sometimes have a snapshot of the PC Readiness Monitor, even though the boot has already completed.

This box might appear after locking the screen and re-logging, or if you switch displays.

We are working on resolving the issue, as a workaround, you can disable Soluto's PC Readiness Monitor by right clicking Soluto's tray icon --> PC Readiness Monitor --> Never show:

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Mary,

I left a feedback earlier regarding the PC Readiness Monitor. In my opinion it should NOT run at every startup -- rather, the setting should default to "Show After Boot Changes".  This does several things:

* It lowers the potential frustration level for a novice end-user who may have icons in the area of their screen that the indicator will show on, reducing the need for them to [try to] close it.

* It reduces the severity and frequency of display issues (such as the above issue).

I would urge Soluto to consider changing the default setting.

Thank you for the suggestion Mike.

You should post this as an Idea (feature request) to get more votes from other users.

Regards, Maya

P.S. who's Mary? :-)

This problem just happened on my PC and I see that it's been a known issue for many months now.  Any ETA on a fix or at least a suggestion on how to prevent it from re-occurring?

Thank you!  -Andy

Hi Andy, to workaround the issue you can disable the PC Readiness Monitor by right clicking the tray icon --> PC Readiness Monitor --> Never show.

I have updated the article to include this workaround.

Keep us updated,

Hi Maya- thank you for the speedy response.

Forgive my thickness, but what does the PC Readiness Monitor do, exactly?  That is, what feature(s) will I miss out on by selecting Never Show?

Thank you!  -Andy

Hi Andy, the PC Readiness Monitor is the folded corner counting down your boot during startup.

I am having this problem too. It's kinda annoying. Its been over a year - maybe time to fix it?

Sorry Kerry, this is a pretty rare issue and you are one of the "lucky" ones... Until a fix is available you can workaround it by disabling the PC Readiness Monitor.

I see where you indicate this is a rare issue but I am on my third computer using this nifty service and the white box has been an issue with each.  This problem does go back over a year.  Seems like time to solve it.  On the other hand, its easier to find the resolution for it now than it was the first two times I dealt with it.

Hey guys, we've added a fix that we believe resolves the issue. Could you please try to update Soluto by running the following installation file (it will perform an in-place upgrade) and keep us updated.

Appreciate your patience with us.
