A lot of people will thank you. It would be perfect to have 2-way solution, but at least controlling Windows from the Linux box will be great.

You can control OS Windows (if the user has Soluto client installed) from whatever OS you use, you just basically need to have access to the internet and go to Soluto Web. All the help that you can give to your "user" is from a web-based perspective.

But I agree, if this could be a multi-platform software it would be great!!

Hi,

We are not planning a Linux version at the moment but that might change according to users' demand.
As Katuyci said, you can support other people from your Linux PC using the browser.

Thanks for sharing your ideas :)

It is a good idea, though I can see why the Soluto team isn't planning this. Linux comes in many many variations and it's very hard to make all different versions for all the distributions out there.

Hi

it's possible to mak a solution based on java and open all files for configuration like webadmin (http://www.webmin.com)

or include webmin in soluto for linux (!) that's open source software....

Soluto open source probably must be a good idea and people must pay for web interface....

best regards

Massimo

there is already something out there called cfgtohtml http://www.cfg2html.com/

We have pulled this apart and added to it at my current place of work. Soluto could grab these commands, through some pretty pictures on top of it and most of the work for Linux would be done.

The issue would be software installs. And things involving package managements (Updates and such) They would have to code more and use many case statements based on distribution type.

They could limit it to red hat variants and ubuntu since those are most common in enterprise and Standard users, desktop wise.

is Soluto losing perspective? You are targeting companies which are using servers, and you are not planning support Linux servers? Evet you are coding Android version of Soluto (Android kinda Linux which is you are already know)..

Soluto would be ahead if they'd offer Linux/Ubuntu support!
