How do I remove unnecessary apps from the boot

Click on one of the PCs you are helping with and then click on Background Apps (marked in orange).

You will see a list of all the background apps installed that run in the PC’s boot. Only the Safe to Remove from Boot or Potentially Removable apps can be paused or delayed:

Click on a background app and then click on "Remove from boot" to remove the app from the boot or click on Delay to run it in the background a few minutes after the boot is complete (the options are marked in orange). Both of these actions will reduce the PC’s boot time.

If you do not see your background apps after you've reboot the PC, please make sure you are connected to the internet and try another reboot.  Wait a couple of minutes before looking at the web view. If you still do not see the background apps, please contact us at support@soluto.com and send the local data from your PC to investigate (follow this guide).

To return an app to boot, go to the "Removed Apps" section, and locate the app under "Removed from boot" or "Delayed". Click "Return to boot" and the app will start up on your next boot:

Alfonso, I'd appreciate if you could submit a request (top nav-bar) and provide some more details, and screenshot if possible, so we can investigate.

Thanks,

Maybe the problem is that we have several users (multiuser) Windows 7?

Hi Gillian - I've checked our server side and it looks like your PC hasn't completed the sync with our servers. Could you please try to reboot the PC ?

Hello aiid33, there's no "Save" button as the changes are saved once you select to pause or delay an app.

Hi Dani, I checked your account and saw that the boot apps are available. It sometimes takes a few minutes for the boot report to reach our servers, specifically if the PC is in use.

@alirio - that's a bug on our end (problem with installations from last night). You can either uninstall and re-install, or wait for a fix that will be pushed out in the next few days.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

@alirio - Soluto's installer is a unique installer for 1 installation. Since you have already used it to install Soluto (and later uninstalled) you should go back to your Soluto.com dashboard (login at www.soluto.com/login) and click "Download" or "Add My PC" to get a fresh installation file.

Hi there, just wanted to ask about this.

I saw the posts above where the user/s rebooted x times already and still the "background apps" still don't show up.

I was wondering, what steps can I follow to fix this? I've rebooted three times now and they still haven't shown up.

Thanks!

@harish - I checked your account and it looks like you were able to configure your boot. Please let us know if that is not the case.

Maya, in my opinion you should change the message that appears and says: "after rebooting you can see your apps" . Because it is not true in all case. And when it doesn't work everyone tries to restart again or just think it doesn't work and ask here or just uninstall the program. Do you know how many people do uninstall before waiting?

You can lose a lot of customers just for it... Just release an update changing the message for:

"After rebooting it can take between X  min and Y min  until you can see your background apps in soluto"

Just a suggestion.

I've booted twice and nothing. Still tells me "once PC reboots, you can decide...." i'm about to uninstall this junk. i think it's slowing my boot down even more.

Hi Mike, seems like another latency issue, as I checked your account and the background apps are avaialble and you were able to make some changes.

I am now closing this topic for comments as it is quite big - if you run into any problems with your delayed apps please submit a support request and we'd be happy to help resolve the issue.

Regards,
Maya
